Michel Hazanavicius

Michel Hazanavicius began his career in television with “La Classe Américaine.” He took a significant step forward in 2006 with the quirky spy film “OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies,” starring Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, followed by “OSS 117: Lost in Rio” three years later. He gained international fame with “The Artist.” It received 5 Oscars, including Best Picture, and remains the only French production to have won this award. In 2014, the filmmaker shifted to a different tone with the drama “The Search,” followed three years later by “Godard Mon Amour,” a biopic about Jean-Luc Godard. In 2019, he released “The Lost Prince,” a colorful fairy tale featuring Omar Sy. His latest production, “Z,” a remake of the Japanese film “One Cut of the Dead” by Shinichiro Ueda, is set to hit theaters soon, starring Romain Duris.
